Race Compass ±180°
Main Display
Large, high-visibility heading digits reduce cognitive load and allow you to focus outside the boat.
For Help & Information within the Race Compass ±180° app, go to Settings & Help on the main display, then select Help & Information at the bottom of the page.
Upwind Start / Downwind Start / Compass Modes
When starting a race, press Upwind Start or Downwind Start once while heading toward the first mark. You do not need to press the button again during the race as long as the course has not changed.
- Upwind Start: Sets your current heading as the 0° reference for an upwind start.
- Downwind Start: Sets your current heading as the 180° reference for a downwind start.
- Compass: Standard 0–360° compass mode without race reference formatting.
GPS Course Over Ground & Speed
- Magnetic heading used when stationary or moving slowly.
- Transitions to GPS COG once underway.
- Optional Speed Over Ground (SOG) available in Settings.
Position & Home
- Displays current GPS position.
- Set Home to store waypoint or mark-in-water position.
- Bearing and distance back to Home shown when set.
Night Vision & Big Heading
Night Vision modes (Red and Green) preserve dark adaptation and reduce glare.
For best results, use Night Vision with the enlarged Big Heading screen. Tap the heading on the main menu to open the Big Heading display.
Android hides the system toolbar in Big Heading mode for a clean, full-screen display. Tap the screen to return to the main menu.
Disable your device’s Auto-Rotate feature during racing to prevent unintended layout changes.
Watch Companion
- Displays heading and optional speed.
- Uses phone as primary data source.
Watch Only Mode
- Locks phone screen while transmitting heading.
- Exit by long-pressing blank screen for 4 seconds, then tapping Confirm.
